Description: Vintage WWII Transparency Map "THE TUNISIAN CAMPAIGN" November 1942 - February 1943 Showcases the November Drive on Tunis, Line of Contact Nov, 1942 - Jan 1943, Elevation in Meters, Axis Counterattack in Central Tunisia, Positions and Movements of the French 19th Army and several other forces. Geographically showcases Kasserine, Sbeitla, Thelepte, Feriana, Gafs, El Guettar, Maknassy, Kairouan, Ousseltia, Enfidaville, etc. Measures 8.5" x 10.5" Not sure when this was made, or why. It looks, smells, and feels old. I'm not sure if it's from the 40's, but I have several period WWII newsreel 16mm films, and this transparency has the same exact texture and vinegar odor as they do. Seems to be made of the same acetate or polyester (or whatever the material may be). This could be some sort of mission planning map, or training aid, etc. No clue. This would look very cool displayed back-lit in a light box, hanging on the wall amongst the rest of your WWII map or poster collection... Condition: Color is good. Surface has expected light marks, dust, and finger marks. All text and parts of the illustrations are intact and legible. None of the color or lettering is chipping off. Edges have tape marks. This vintage item is sold as-is. Please ask all questions before bidding. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I've come across a small collection of these, so check my other auctions to see maps from other campaigns and parts of WWII.
