Description: Both of these figures are damaged to some extent with one being in better shape than the other as it has no major breaks. This a pair of straw glazed terracotta Ming Dynasty hollow-moulded courtly tomb figure standing on a raised hexagonal base. Both figures are wearing ankle-length garments with wide sleeves. The head are unglazed, and are REMOVABLE. They fit loosely into the necks. Each face is painted white with features detailed in grey / white and black pigments and each head is surmounted with a tall headdress. The heads are REMOVABLE and interchangeable. Height approximately 14 1/4" , 4 1/4 at the base. Condition: one figure has been broken sometime in the past, reglued and repainted. The other figure is intact but does have some edge chips especially at the base. Both show wear and chips around the necks where the heads fit into the neck. Please SEE PHOTOS for the damage on BOTH figures. Both figures have some amount of degradation to the glaze with the base showing a lot of glaze loss as shown in the photos. Please ask for more pictures if necessary before buying!
