It is embossed / stamped on the bottom, "Wesley Mfg. Co. / New York US.A. / Pat'd Nov. 18 '90 / Sep. 15 & 20 '91 / June 27, Sep. 26 '93 / Dec. 4 '94 and / Jun. 15, 1897." The perforator works as it was supposed to. You push down the lever, insert the check. The lever and serrated wheel holds the check in place and advances it from one number or symbol to the next. You then line up what number on the top you want to perforate into the check, press the top down and it perforates the paper with the number or symbol. Some wear due to age.
