Description: This is an antique waterlily (Lotus) brooch. It is hand-painted on bone china with a gold metal prong setting and backing. It has a C clasp which dates this piece...C clasps are the oldest designed clasps and were used in the late 1800s through the early 1900s. The waterlily is on a serene pond surrounded by cattails and pond reeds. The painted bone is in excellent condition with no visible wear. The gold frame setting surrounding the painted portion is shiny and with minimal discoloration. The prong setting looks to be secure. The gold backing does have some discoloration due to age, and the pin is slightly bent but will still clasp. I didn't want to attempt to unbend it and will leave it to the buyer.
