It’s definitely been my best upgrade hands down and is the silver bullet for a perfect tune and most power potential. Those that have followed this haltech lead know the difference! Now at 100,000 miles on the haltech and 777,777 miles on my truck the truck is running the best it ever has since I bought it new. It will actually run a 0-60 in 6 seconds at 6000 feet. For a 25 year old truck with 777,777 miles it’s pretty sweet. The torque numbers at 2k-4k (335TQ) are the sweet spot for sure where you drive it the most. The TVS1320 I’ve now passed 25,000 miles on it. With all the bugs worked out on pulley sizes and snout V1 and V2 and dynos done at my elevation the numbers tell the whole story. The TVS1320 with the smallest pulley 56mm with proper upgrade fueling will gain you about 40hp + and 40TQ + more over the old style supercharger and if at sea level probably more. My end numbers come in at 310HP and 335 TQ at 6000 feet on the dyno at the 8 pound boost range. This number will change with outside temperature, elevation, tire size, auto or standard. My daily boost varies from 7.50-8.75 depending on outside temperature if they are 30 degrees or 95 degrees and humidity with 58mm pulley. The huge 1320 advantages are it’s a 4 lobe supercharger, with 160 degrees rotor twist, 30 percent larger rotors, at 1320 volume of air per revolution with bearing rated at 20kRPMS compared to the MP62 at 3 lobes, 60 degree twist, 980 volume of air per revolution and bearing rated at 15k that runs a lot hotter.Extremely happy with the 1320, they definitely knocked it out of the park and kept the price essentially the same as the old supercharger by increasing the price by only 100.00 some dollars and if you’re selling your older supercharger it makes it a much easier upgrade with a 3 year warranty with new technology from a 25 year old design.Only downside I see is there’s no real easy way to inspect the oil level on the 1320 as the inspection plug you can’t even see the oil and the oil level is below the inspection plug. I guess a new plug can be tapped into the snout front to solve that issue but it should have been moved lower to the oil level like the rear differential plug where it’s full when the oil starts to flow out.The rotor seals are something that do fail from time to time on a supercharger and did fail once on my old supercharger. If the rotor seals leak the oil gets sucked into the engine and you will never know it’s leaking until till burns up the bearings if you can’t check your oil level from time to time.Bought the truck new in early 1998,Just crossed 777,777 miles, once in a lifetime number for sure. It’s been a journey and a super fun one at that with tons of memory including both my kids learning how to drive in it.!This community is priceless for all the information everyone contributes and has helped my get my truck to it’s best place that I never thought was possible.Gabe Salazar technical knowledge and tuning ability and support for his products that he sells to get the 5vz supercharger to its top shelf performance numbers is hands down amazing. He’s now working on the internal engine parts kit for the 5vz engine if u turbo that with push the 5vz to 450-800hp, crazy! He has red turbo Toyota sand drag pickup pushing 1000hp plus all built by him.His knowledge for the haltech with remote tune is THE BEST!Here is his background information knowing your in the best handsMy name is Gabe Salazar and I am the owner of SNP Speed Innovations. We at SNP Speed Innovations specialize in EFI tuning and offer EFI tuning solutions for the Toyota 22R/E, 2RZ, 3RZ, 5VZ, 2JZ engines along with supercharger and turbo applications. Some of you may have heard of me some maybe not.I first started my Toyota venture when I started working for L.C. Engineering in 2003 while I was actually drag racing my Nissan 240SX. My first task at LCE was the header department. I came in to help finish the first batch of headers LCE made under their own roof instead of outsourcing. Within the next few months I was designing/redesigning headers and exhaust systems and eventually ended up managing that department until I moved on to cylinder heads.I eventually ended up managing that department as well and in my time building cylinder heads I ported over 600 heads in total, most were 22R/E heads, others were 2RZ/3RZ, 5VZ, and 3VZ. Many of those cylinder heads were flowed on a flow bench. We were also involved in a race program where we built 40ish 3RZ (Race) heads which were big power builds consuming 42 hours of build time each but supported 11,500 RPMs and over 70 lbs of boost. When that race project came to an end I continued building cylinder heads and moved into machining engine blocks as well.In 2008 I left LCE to work at a local turbo shop doing inconel welding and machine work. The owner of the shop brought me in as well as a few other people to do some R&D for a new train turbo contract. This was put to an end by a new engineer who came into the picture as we were finalizing our development and shut the whole project down, so back to LCE I went.My return to LCE in 2009 brought me less production work and more custom work along with dyno tuning, since at that point I already had over 6 years of EFI tuning during my personal drag racing career, from my side hustle out of my garage. This experience plus my past history with LCE as well as the turbo experience lead to my position as LCE tuner, R&D, product development, and machinist. This kept me plenty busy until the economy finally caught up to us at the same time the engine builder retired, so I became the next engine builder and we shut the dyno services down. Conclusion, 10 years ago I decided to start my own business and here I am. I have learned even more in the last 10 years in my travels to many race tracks, working on many different types of vehicles includingTwin 2000 hp engine boats doing 145 mph on the water at 25% throttle,3000 hp drag cars1100 hp 40lbs of boost 4 cyl sand drag truck (I built the engine)Desert race trucksRock crawlersRoad race carsand a ton of street vehicles before I decided that staying in my shop and manufacturing is where I needed to be.I have been fortunate to have a great following and customer base which fuels me and my team at SNP to want to build our business to accommodate as many as our customers needs as possible, as we grow. With the help of great people like this 777,777 mile truck with 100,000 on the haltech I sold and turned for him spreading our legacy and increasing our reputation amongst the Tacoma/4Runner 5VZ community, our business continues to grow and we are forever grateful. We strive to grow and to help the Toyota community grow together.Thank you for taking the time to read my rant, I feel it was time to give some history about my technical experience to better explain my position and ability in the business we love.Gabe Salazar, SNP Speed InnovationsP.S. I also own 2 Tacoma's and 1 4Runner.
