Description: The image on the right is an ambrotype, the left is a tintype. It appears the ambrotype has a crack across the glass. The little piece of debris on the upper right is behind the glass. They are the ninth plate size - 2" x 2.5". There is a crack one one side of the thermoplastic case. The women are clearly related and wear the same dress and jewelry. Nice example of civil war era clothing styles.
