Last two images show F1 seed grown plants offered for sale planted in in New Zealand AAAA sphagnum in 2.25"/6 cm pots Anthorrhiza caerulea is a gorgeous, blue flowered hydnophytine ant plant from Morobe Province in northeastern Papua New Guinea. Like its close relative, A. chrysacantha, it is a high elevation epiphyte with deeply-embossed leaves that is somewhat heat tolerant in cultivation if cooled off at night. Plants are effectively dioecious with extreme heterostyly evident among individuals producing functionally male and female plants, as shown in the fourth image. Still rare in cultivation, but one of the finest caudexed Papuasian ant plants of all. Requires hand pollination for successful fruit set. All plants offered are greenhouse grown on benches in the San Francisco Bay Area, California. Shipping: Plants will be shipped via USPS Priority Mail with tracking number for physical addresses within three working days of receipt of payment, weather permitting. 72 hour heat packs are available for an additional nominal charge. Wherever possible, plants will be shipped in plastic pots. If bare-rooting is required for shipment to your state, please advise when auction is completed.
