Description: Anheuser-Busch is the world's largest brewer today, but when it was founded in 1852 as the Bavarian Brewery, it wasn't immediately successful in the very competitive city of St. Louis, Missouri. The anniversary stein features a portrait of Eberhard Anheuser on one side in a decorative medallion, while another on the opposite side shows Adolphus Busch, Anheuser's son-in-law. At the center of the stein in deep ceramic relief is the the brewery circa 1880, which was a milestone year for the brewery.Illustrations of the era and antiqued gold colored accents gives this stein a nostalgic appeal. The stein's pewter thumb rest repeats the caution symbol found on every cork that Adolphus Busch himself proclaimed. Capping the stein is the intricately pewter lid featuring an eagle with wings outstretched , plus stylized hop leaves and flowers. This special 12" tall stein is individually numbered from a series of only 20,000. It was hand crafted in Brazil by Ceramarte and is truly a fitting commemoration of the remarkable history of Anheuser-Busch, made possible by the vision of two equally remarkable men.
