Description: A CLASSIC RENDITION OF A "FARMER'S WIFE" --or so it seems-- in matte finish porcelain. By HomCo, later known as Home Interiors. This is not the official name of the figurine, and I do not know if it is officially in a collection named "God's Blessings." Given the history of this American company, the collection name fits the subject of the figurine; whereas the dress fits the late 19th century farm woman.The farmer's wife is collecting eggs from the hens and probably smiling because of the number she has gathered in her basket. There is a companion piece: the farmer with geese at his feet; we have seen it but do not have one in our collection. Occasionally, other similar pieces come up with slightly different costumes and animals. 8" x 3" x 2 1/2" No cracks, chips, scratches.One repair: right wrist; we had looked at it 15 times before we even saw it. Very good condition!In the grass at the bottom of the woman's dress there seems to be a signature. No mention of such has occurred in our research, so it may not be real. But, try your hand at finding it!Fun Fact: This company was started in 1957 in Carrollton, TX, by Mary Crowley. Mary worked for Mary Kay and later started selling her own line of home decor by using home "parties" as her selling strategy. By 1990 the business had grown exponentially.
