A TRUE First American Edition/First Printing/First State with ALL First Edition Points present! This rare treasure has some VERY clearly visible wear, but is still in Highly Collectible condition! Unfortunately, the wear is extensive and should be carefully examined/considered BEFORE buying. The book appears gently read and has no internal writing, no foxing, no remainder marks, no missing pages and is NOT Ex-Libris or a BCE. The binding is tight and the pages that are not damaged are still surprisingly crisp and clean! Some general/shelf wear along with creases/scuffing/wear to the spine/corners/cloth boards and wear to the edge/fore pages. The most obvious and egregious wear can be found on some of the pages. Pages 271 though 280 have EXTENSIVE wear which includes numerous creases varying in size and some VERY large rips! The rips and the creases are VERY EXTENSIVE! The unfortunate damage is substantial and VERY clearly visible! The most severe wear/damage was closely photographed for your consideration. Truly unfortunate because if not for the wear to these pages, the book would be in lovely condition. We want to reiterate, once again, the wear, particularly the rips and creases on these pages is EXTENSIVE/SUBSTANTIAL! The wear should be carefully examined/considered BEFORE buying. The original, First State dust jacket is fully intact and NOT price-clipped! Some general/shelf wear along with creases, chipping and rubbing. Please note the wear on the spine, at the corners and near/along the edges! While not terribly egregious, the wear is still VERY clearly visible and should be carefully examined/considered. We tend to grade the condition of our books rather harshly and took into consideration any and all wear when determining the value of this rare book.Our VERY LOW asking price is a reflection of that consideration. If not for the unfortunate wear that is present on some of the pages, our asking price would be considerably higher.
