Description: This item has been graded per TCA standards C-5: Good based on visual appearance. There are nicks, scratches, and light spots of rust beginning to form on the surface of both the locomotive and tender. Locomotive frame is not secured causing side rods to fall out. Front truck is detached and included. Previous owner has repainted both items at some point in time, however there are still scratches, scuffs, and light spots of paint chips on their surfaces. This locomotive features plastic construction with a powerful motor, reverse unit, operating headlamp, smoke unit, metal side rods, metal and plastic wheels, and metal axles. The tender features tin plate construction with die cast trucks, operating knuckle coupler, metal and plastic wheels, and metal axles. Introduced in its prototype form in the late 19th century, the 4-6-2 would take the world by storm at the turn of the 20th century, being seen as one of the biggest innovation in the history of locomotives -- the 4-6-2 would quickly finds its place in rail-yards across the world. Heralded for its ability to haul passengers, the 4-6-2 was a versatile model hauling freight and coal as well, with tank variants being introduced later during the 20th century. Traveling at speeds upwards of 100mph the 4-6-2 was featured on rail-ways ranging from Argentina to Egypt, and all the way to the far East in China!
