Description: Description This is for a working vintage Akai VT-100s portable black & white video tape recorder from the early 1970s. It's essentially a VT-110 without the audio dub feature. It's compatible with other Akai B&W models such as the VT-100, VT-110, and VT-700. It has been carefully restored to working condition. The mechanism has been cleaned and lubricated. Rubber belts and tires have been replaced as needed. Electronic faults have been corrected as needed. The RF modulator has been turned into an A/V input output adapter. Originally, the VT-100s could only record from its matching camera, without the ability to record from an external video source. It has been slightly modified to be able to record from an external composite video source. It should still work with the Akai camera, but I don't have one to test with. Condition It's in fully working condition. Rewind, Fast Forward, Play, and Record all work as they should. The tracking servo locks, and produces a stable video output. It's ideal for digitizing old tapes. The video heads are in good condition, and produce a strong signal. The plastic cover over the heads is missing, but it's only cosmetic. There is some old permanent marker visible on the white parts of the lid. There is some minor surface rust on some of the metal hardware. In the box You will receive the VTR,power adapter, and A/V adapter shown. It also comes with one good reel of Akai video tape to allow you to check functionality before trying to play an unknown tape.
