Description: TWO Incredible Miniature SHOULDER VASES Cobalt cut-to-clear in Cushion Block A miniature shoulder vase is a rare thing, even more so in cut to clear. These precious vases stand a mere 5 3/4" tall, with a top and base diameter of 1 1/2". The last picture shows them next to a standard 10" vase for perspective. The blown blanks are quite heavy -- see how the teardop shaped interior extends into the base which is solid for 1" above the radiant star cut bottom. That heavy base not only gives great stability to these little guys, but is also quite unique -- it is cut into a fluted hexagon leaving extended triangular slivers of cobalt facing downward. Most eye catching! Another nice touch is the chain of punties encircling the shoulder. There are some slight variations between the two hand made pieces. Lovely, unusual, and sure to garner attention. These may be American by Boston & Sandwich, or perhaps European.
