The GP91-1sc is the lowest output of the range by ACOS ,(the others being 1sc-low, 2sc-medium,and 3sc high )The specific cartridge, in the test took out a very loud and clear sound. Many record players over the years have been fitted with replacement cartridges that don't give enough output causing a lack of volume especially with LPs. You'll often find that with the volume turned full there is not enough power. This cartridge will ensure that there is enough volume to spare and drive the output valve with enough signal to give you more control. As a note, people often list these ACOS cartridges as stereo compatible but please be aware that they are better suited to playing mono records only. Despite what anyone says, due to the construction and form of the stylus rest there is virtually no stereo compliance meaning that it will wear stereo records faster than a stereo compatible cartridge. Please take this in mind when buying any mono output ACOS cartridge as they are all the same. That said the vertical compliance is excellent and if you play a lot of 50s and 60s records then this will do the job perfectly. Please make sure this cartridge is compatible for your application.
