Description: A Very Fine/Rare Korean Mother of Pearl Inlaid Up-Right Mirror Stand-19th C.: Korea, Joseon dynasty, 19th century. The large dark brown lacquer glazed rectangular upright mirror panel banded by a mother of pearl and tortoise shell with wire inlaid with a dragon, phoenix, paulownia leaf and floral scrolls, all on a trestle-formed support with two grooved upright posts, the stand and curving apron further inlaid with alternating designs of phoenix and floral heads in mother of pearl and tortoise shell. It’s very fine condition with minor repair on the back stand and a few lost mother of pearl inlaid pieces. It measures; After set-up: 21.25” w. x 33.5” h. (54cm x 85.3cm h.) Mirror: 18.5” w. x 24” h (47cm x 61cm h.), and Stand: 21.5” front w. x 12” d. x 16.75” h. (54cm x 30.5cm x 42.5cm.)
