Description: Beautiful set of 8 early to mid 19th century French Empire porcelain dinner plates c. 1800-1850. The pattern features a hand-painted gilt sheaves of wheat motif on band with sprays of wheat on center finished with a smooth gold rim. Pieces are unmarked. Each measures 9 3/8" diameter and are in Excellent antique condition free of nicks, dings, fleabites or repairs. Some minor losses to the gilt rim and rubbing to the center as shown. We have a large set, originally for 65 people, that we have broken down from a 19th century house in Charleston, South Carolina. A fine addition to any home or collection.
