Description: You are bidding on a used OEM INSTRUMENT CLUSTER removed from a 1968 Volvo 145 Wagon. There are 173000 miles on a WORKING ODOMETER. Visually this Cluster is in EXCELLENT condition. All mounting Tabs are intact. The plastic transparent Face Plate has no chips or cracks. There are no splotches or other discolorations present on the Face Plate. The Plastic Housing has No Cracks or Chips. The Red colored Speed Indicator Cylinder is not faded. This is and OEM VDO Unit and the Speedo maxes out at 120mph. Carefully refer to the Pics that show the Cluster from several different angles, as well as the Part Numbers and do you own due diligence to make sure that this Item satisfies your needs. To the best of my knowledge this Cluster is compatible with ALL NON-TURBO NON-DIESEL 140 Volvo vehicles built from 1967 through 1972 including the 142 144 and 145 Models. ALL GAUGES WORK IN THIS ASSEMBLY. I even include Two Good Illumination Bulbs. Three of the Five Indicator Bulb Housings are Missing and you will need to replace the Bulbs in the other Two that remain. This Unit includes:1. 120 MPH Speedometer. This is a Cable driven Unit and could easily be tested on the Bench. The Speedometer and the odometer work. The Speedo on this Unit is unusual. It consists of a long Colored Cylinder that rotates at a variable rate around two thin Pins as a function of speed. There is a Calibration Screw that applies pressure to the mounting Pins. WHEN I SAY THIS IS A MECHANICAL SPEEDO IT REALLY IS ONE - THERE ARE ABSOLUTELY NO ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS INVOLVED. I GUESS THIS IS A MEASURE OF ITS AGE BECAUSE I HAVE NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE IT BEFORE. The Speedo normally fails because the Return Spring that sets the Zero mark snaps. Look at the position of the Red Zero indicator because that is where it needs to be. If you see All Red or All Black then you know the Speedo is defective. If the Speed reads incorrectly that can be adjusted with the Screw - I made no attempt to do that. The Odometer is Fully Functional and reads 173K. 2. Fuel and Water temperature Gauges. Both checked on the Bench and both work.Check the Pics because what you see is what you get. This Unit is rare. It is difficult to find in any condition and to find one that is Functional and in Excellent Cosmetic appearance is near impossible. You are guaranteed satisfaction.DEAR BUYER.
