Description: Original US Military issue 100% cotton non-ripstop poplin An excellent example of a 1st pattern Tropical Combat Coat. A 1st pattern jacket can be identified by its exposed buttons, epaulettes, waist adjustment tabs on the rear, and gas flap under the main closure. This coat displays originally applied full-colour insignia and is attributed to MACV advisor Staff Sergeant Henry. The MACV, 2nd Infantry Division, and Jump Wings patches were removed when the jacket was found, however clear shadowing indicated their previous placement. We have since restored the jacket to its original patched condition using appropriate wartime examples. All other patches, including the US Army branch tape, name tape, rank chevrons, and combat leader loops, were still present when the jacket was found. The final two photos show the reverse of the patches where it is clear to see the existing patches are original to the jacket. In very good condition with light signs of real wear - All buttons, fittings and fixtures are present. The contract label is present but faded. There is a nicely made repair on the left side seam as shown. Flat garment measurements in inches: Chest: 48" (24" P2P) Length: 30" Arm: 23" Shoulder: 19" All of our products are meticulously researched, inspected, precisely measured, carefully washed and pressed.
