Description: Set of 6 sterling silver Turkisk Ottoman coffee cup holders. Islamic metal work, Turkish Empire , circa 1880. This is a PRETTY and ANTIQUE set of 6 sterling silver coffee cups holders, stamped in Tughra marks of Sultan AbdülHamid the second seal. With zigzag ( checking marks ). Abd El Hamid 2 ( In power 1876 - 1909 ). Stamped on both top and base of the cup holder with the Tughra ( see photos ). All hand chased and hand crafted, top and base joined together with a silver screw. With its original porcelain cups ( inserts ) nicely decorated in gold with the Turkish empire flag ( see photos ), with a blue color edges. Also can be used for egg holders. Please see photos carefully to admire the beauty of the work. Dimensions : High of the silver zarf : 2.25 inches ( 5.5 cm ) Opening diameter of the silver zarf : 2 inches ( 5 cm ) Weight of the 6 silver zarf : 7.6 oz ( 216 grams ). High of the porcelain insert : 1.5 inches ( 4 cm ) Opening diameter of the porcelain insert : 2 inches ( 5 cm ) Condition report : Silver well preserved with no damage. Stamped with the Tughra on both top and base of the cup holder. Zigzap stamps. 5 original porcelain inserts, only one with a tiny chip at the top edge ( one missing porcelain insert ).
