Italian Oregano is a very fragrant flowering perennial herb which displays red-flushed, green leaves through the summer months. Plants display clusters of pink flowers, above it's many 1- & 1/2-inch leaves. The blooms attract bees, butterflies, bumblebees and hummingbirds. Mature height is 12 to 18". Perennial if winter temperatures aren't too cold. Italian oregano grows fast and will establish a deep root system in its initial year of growth. The plants will use this root system to grow year after year. The plants are often grown in small and medium-sized pots, a sunny window will do, and also directly in the garden. Great for flower beds and along borders such as fences, driveways and walkways. Leaves are best used dry and can be mixed in with many bold flavors like onions, garlic, tomatoes and beef. The Italian oregano plant is good for culinary use for 3 to 4 years, and then should be replanted. Oregano is easily grown from seed and is pretty much carefree after established. You can usually start to clip off leaves after 6/7 weeks. 500+seeds per order. Thank You! Origanum vulgare. Perennial Herb. Full sun. Spring, soil temp 60F+.
