Description: Welcome to my Garden! Up for Your Purchase ~ ~ \|/*****\|/\\//\\//*****\\//\\// ^~.,.*^ \\//\\//*****\\//\\//\|/*****\|/ 5+ Individual Bare Root Liriope Plants aka Creeping Lily Turf and Monkey Grass This listing is for well-rooted (spreading) Liriope Spicata plants, measuring approximately 3" to 9+" in height. Known to be faster spreading than the "Big Blue" variety Height of those shown in the picture with the urn are 17" ~ 20+" in height - more mature plants. The last picture was taken of an order of more Liriope, just before they were wrapped and shipped, this will give you an idea of the healthy roots. They have been root bound and I'm sure they'll appreciate being given more space to spread out. You will be receiving the green tops/plants with healthy roots and some will have shoots coming from the roots that will form new plants. I will hand dig/count each plant and they'll be shipped out the next day or ASAP. They are hardy in zones 4a to 10b. FILLED AND PACKED BOX WILL BE HEAVY BECAUSE OF THE SIZE OF PLANTS, ROOT MASS FOR @ PLANT AND MOISTURE CONTENT. These are well established plants with healthy roots - some may have long white runners and/or prominent rhizomes and tubers looking for a place to sprout new plants, some already have new plants still attached to the mother plant (counted as 1 plant). I have not trimmed them back to get rid of old, yellowing growth fading to brown, I normally don't trim mine back. The last picture is showing the root systems on my plants. The other pictures are of Liriope with many years growth. Your plants will be dug, wrapped within 24~48 hours of confirmed payment, and shipped the following day, excluding weekends, holidays & inclement weather; if weather is to bad for me to dig, I'll dig/ship ASAP! Liriope is sometimes referred to as Lily Turf or Monkey Grass. Liriope is one of the best evergreen ground covers. It multiplies rapidly and requires very little care. It grows well almost anywhere. These plants form dense mounds of grass-like foliage. The foliage of these plants is dark green and will reach a height of between 17" ~ 20"+ at maturity. It blooms in July to September with shades of pink violet-purple/lavender flowers along tall stalks, those flowers eventually turn into bluish black berry-like fruit that are seeds which take a couple years to germinate. Liriope can be used as a ground cover as it is remarkably tough and easy care, use under trees and shrubs in deep shade or full sun in sand or clay. Can be established on steep slopes where erosion control is needed; a means to control erosion in a beautiful way. These plants look really lovely lining driveways, walkways, foundations and flower beds, you can mow right up to the liriope boarder w/o damaging them, the tall "waterfall like" leaves helps keep debris from mower out of flower/garden areas while giving a waterfall affect from long leaves (at maturity). It can endure heat, drought, and salt spray once established. Flowers are produced most freely in a sunny location. Minimal maintenance is required once established. To become established, Liriope prefers a consistently moist soil during the first growing season. When established, they are quite drought tolerant. As with many other ornamental plants, they do not like constantly SOGGY OR WET SOIL, which can lead to root rot and other plant diseases. So BE CAREFUL NOT TO OVERWATER!.
