Description: The fine item you are considering is a set of 4 Antique U.S. Navy Mugs USS Haleakala & USS Blue Hand Painted. Buyer gets all four mugs pictured. These four antique/vintage mugs are difficult to date, but one of the mugs shows the USS Blue, which served in World War 2 and the Korean War and was sunk in 1977 in a training exercise, so I'm sure the mugs pre-date that. The mugs were all owned by a mess CPO by the name of Burton, and are all hand painted. Three of the mugs are normal sized, measuring around 3 ½” tall, with the forth mug being very large, measuring around 6” tall. The large mug says “Keep Meat Hooks Off”, with Burton’s name and insignia on the other side. The smaller mugs have Burton’s name, insignia, with two having the USS Haleakala designation, and one showing the USS Blue DD-744, both apparently ships he was serving on. All the mugs are in great previously used condition. Please see my photos to have a look at this nice set of items.
