Description: repro pedals Vintage Bicycle Saddle Seat Pan Fine Thread Clamp Bolt & Nut for Mesinger Troxel Persons Lobdell This auction is for a New Raw / Plain Steel Fine Thread Replacement Seat Pan Clamp Bolt for Vintage Bicycle Saddles. If old Patina matters this Raw Steel Hardware is Good looking with Performance to Match. The Bolt works with most Vintage Antique Troxel , Mesinger, Lobdell, and Persons Saddles. This Style bolt was typically used from the Wood Wheel era through the Ballooner era on leather and cloth Prewar long spring and post war saddles. The Bolt is a 3/8" x 2" ( measured under the head ) Hex Machine Bolt with a 9/16" head and comes with washers and an oversized nut that takes a 11/16" drive like originals. The Hex Machine Bolt is a fine thread replacement option as the originals were carriage bolts that are no longer made in fine thread. The Hex Machine Bolt is Strong Grade 5 Steel. The Bold and Nut are finished in a hot oil with a Blackish finish. The washers are Raw Gray Oily Raw Steel. The hardware comes oily and have some rust protection at first, once the oils gone they can rust, thus making this our top choice for Rat Rod Cruisers and Patina Bikes. The idea is New Nuts that are mechanically sound and will look old. This Hardware combo works with Most Antique Saddles but measure originals to be sure, but keep in mind the originals could be long gone. The Bolt is Fine thread typically used on Mesinger Saddles. This Replacement Combo will require a wrench on both sides to tighten ( 9/16" and 11/16" wrenches). Bolt Does Not Work in some Late Model Vintage Seats ( typically 1960s+ vintage rubber top and sparkle fabric seats ) that went to a smaller weaker 5/16" bolt and Clamp Openings. Once again Please Measure and Examine for your application to be sure.
