It was published in 1920 by the Commissions on War History of the states of Michigan and Wisconsin. The book is in good overall condition but does show signs of age and wear throughout. The binding is intact however you can see some separations of the page signatures (see pictures). There is also some slight wrinkling to some pages. The United States 32nd Infantry Division was formed from Army National Guard units from Wisconsin and Michigan and fought primarily during World War I and World War II. With roots as the Iron Brigade in the American Civil War, the division's ancestral units came to be referred to as the Iron Jaw Division. Almost all of the Michigan and Wisconsin National Guard units which would be combined to form the 32nd Division had served on the Mexican Border in 1916-17. On 15 July 1917 the National Guards of Wisconsin and Michigan were officially ordered into Federal Service and mobilization commenced at state camps, Camp Douglas, WI and Camp Grayling, MI respectively. The Division served on the front line in France during World War I from 18 May 1918 until the end of the War on 11 November 1918.
