Description: The plant I ship is about 1-2ft tall This is a dwarf form of Jaboticaba “Brazilian Grape Tree”, known as ‘Precoce’ and the Red Jaboticaba.This is an early bearing type, around 3-5yrs from seed as opposed to 5-10 for the regular jaboticaba. This is a great option for someone who doesn’t live in a tropical location and needs to grow in a container and/or someone who wants to see fruit a lot sooner.We have some old plants (stock plants only) in large containers in South Florida that never grew past 5 feet tall.Dwarf Jaboticaba is very rarely offered for sale. Myrciaria cauliflora (Jaboticaba) is a popular native Brazilian fruit tree or shrub. It reaches a height of 15 to 30 feet and spread up to 18 feet. It is profusely branching crown, branches angling upward to form a dense rounded or vase-like symmetrical crown. The attractive bark is smooth, reddish-brown, peeling to reveal cream to gray underbark. Leaves are entire, simple, opposite, lance-shaped to elliptical, and 1 to 4 inches long. Young leaves are color salmon becoming dark green when mature. Also, flowers are small, white, under 1/4 inch across, with numerous stamens, typically borne in groups of 4 directly on the trunk and large branches; hence the species name. Jaboticaba, Myrciaria cauliflora or Brazilian Grape is a slow growing, small bushy tree. It’s known for its purplish-black, white-pulped fruits which grow directly on the trunk. Jaboticaba trees typically reach a height of 10 - 15 feet in cultivation. They are profusely branched, beginning close to the ground and slanting upward and outward so that the dense rounded crown may attain an ultimate spread as wide as it is tall. Jaboticaba will take full sun or some shade and are small enough to fit into many parts of the garden landscape. They are fairly wind tolerant but do not like salty sea air. Jaboticabas grow and fruit best in rich, deep, slightly acidic soil. Although not well adapted to alkaline soils, they may be grown successfully by mulching and applying necessary nutrient sprays containing iron. Jaboticabas can tolerate a few degrees of frost, but do best under frost-free conditions. The fruit is grape-like in appearance, texture and taste. Blooms can be expected several times a year during warm months. Fresh fruit is delicious eaten out-of-hand and can be made into jellies, jams and wines. The skin is high in tannin. Jaboticaba makes an attractive landscape plant and an excellent bonsai potted fruit tree! • Average mature height: 4-6 feet• Light: Full sun• Soil: Average watering needs.• Zones: 9b-12 Fertilizer that I include as an option is an excellent choice for professional growers or nurseries if you grow plant in a pot. I personally use it for all my plants. It has polymer coating to allow slow release during 8-9 months evenly. You don't have to worry about repotting the plant for about 1 year or worry about burning plant with your regular over the counter fertilizer. You need about 3-4oz per 3 gal pot or 4-5oz per 5 gal pot.GUARANTEED ANALYSIS Total Nitrogen (N)**. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 15%8.0% Ammoniacal Nitrogen7.0% Nitrate NitrogenAvailable Phosphate (P2O5)**. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 9%Soluble Potash (K2O)**. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 12%Magnesium (Mg)**. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 1.3%0.8% Water Soluble Magnesium (Mg)Sulfur (S)**. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 5.9%5.93% Combined Sulfur (S)Boron (B). . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 0.02%Copper (Cu). . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 0.05%0.05% Water Soluble Copper (Cu)Iron (Fe)**. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 0.46%0.08% Water Soluble Iron (Fe)0.005% Chelated Iron (Fe)Manganese (Mn)**. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 0.06%0.05% Water Soluble Manganese (Mn)Molybdenum (Mo)**. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 0.02%Zinc (Zn). . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 0.05%0.017% Water Soluble Zinc (Zn)Derived from: Polymer-Coated: Ammonium Nitrate,Ammonium Phosphate, Potassium Sulfate, MagnesiumSulfate, Sodium Borate, Iron Phosphate, Iron EDTA,Manganese Sulfate, Sodium Molybdate, Zinc Sulfate;Copper Sulfate, Zinc Oxide Pictures show adult plant and its possible applications.The pot is not included.
