Description: Penn Antique Restoration 24"x78.5" Antique Solid Wood Interior Door w/2 Panels Handsome, antique, interior door salvaged from an old, hardware store in Northeastern, PA. The door is made of solid Douglas fir or pine, and has 2 recessed (flat) panels on both sides. The door is stained on both sides. Today, "pine" is known as a cheap, weak, soft wood. New pine hewn from 10 - 20 year old trees doesn't have the same insect-resistant, rot-resistant, or even fire-resistant qualities that old pine, hewn from trees hundreds of years old has. Old pine is also much harder and stronger than young pine. Hardware: The door is not equipped with any hardware. However, we have a good selection of hardware to outfit it (check out our eBay store). * If you would like any of the hardware holes plugged with solid wood, please email us for a quote. Condition: The door is strong, sturdy, and in great structural condition. It only has nicks and scratches, but no breaks, cracks, gouges, rot, warp, or any other serious issues. Most of the blemishes that it has will disappear after sanding, prior to refinishing or repainting, and whatever remains will be subtle, "character marks". Swing: The door is set up to swing into a room towards the left or away from a room towards the right. We can modify the door to swing in the opposite direction--message us for a quote. Modification: Do you want to replace the panels with glass, screen/mesh, or something else? We could modify the door to fit your opening or suite your needs. We could make a frame, trim or add to the height or width, reverse the swing, plug the hardware holes, etc. Email us with a small description of what you would like done, and we'll give you a quote.
