Here's a very late Mark VI alto saxophone that was one of the very last Mark VI altos that were made. In fact, many Selmer serial number guides will put this serial number well within the Mark VII production range. In fact, according to Selmer, they didn't start the full production launch of the Mark VII until around 240,xxx, although some prototypes with lower serial numbers can occasionally be found. The later Mark VI altos such as this one are fantastic horns. Selmer worked out some kinks through their run of altos, so the later ones have the more desired medium bow which is the best combination of good intonation and responsiveness. This Mark VI is a stunning example that almost looks as good as the day it left the factory. The finish is in wonderful shape. The lacquer is original and 99%+ remains. The neck is also original to the horn and has never been bent down. My repairman just serviced the horn prior to sale. The pads appear to be mostly original to the horn. He adjusted the pads so that they are sealing well. This is a very nice playing horn. It's responsive in all registers and plays with a beautiful, expressive tone that is slightly darker than a typical late Mark VI. US buyers are free to return the sax for any reason, provided you pay shipping and insurance both ways. The sax must be returned in its original condition. Returns are subject to a 3% restocking fee.
