Description: The new 2023 Leader Volare is a steel framed bike constructed of 4130 chromoly with pursuit racing geometry. I have constructed this bike out of a brand new frameset and a collection of entusiast-grade components. The aggressive style of this bike is clearly inspired by classic olympic pursuit frames of the 70's and 80's. Although a steel framed pursuit bike is no longer at the forefront of olympic competition, it is still a stylish and capable machine and a blast to ride. I have deviated from the traditional drops and bullhorn bars normally found on a pursuit framed fixie for Nitto Bullmoose bars. The elegant geometry and swept-back wide reach compliment the geometry and style of the Volare pursuit frame excellently. And as a bonus not only does it make the bike look gorgeous and aggressive, it also provides a very comfortable and yet powerful posture for the rider. The wheelset is a set of Velocity Deep-V in a matching Gloss Blue finish laced to Chosen sealed bearing track hubs in a similar anodized finish. The wheels are wrapped in Continental Ride Tour 32c tires which provide extraordinary comfort and grip over any rolling surface you might encounter. The wheelset is strong and capable and thanks to the sealed bearing fixed/free flip-flop hub design, durable and low maintenance. The drivetrain is fully manufactured by Sugino with a sleek matching blue 17t Sugino fixed gear cog and lock ring on one end and a Sugino RD2 Messenger crankset on the other. The crank arms are stiff and durable and provide great feedback and power transfer to and from the drivetrain. This bike operates smooth, precise, and gracefully and looks the part as well. The gorgeous lines and contrasting colors of the frame construction and bike components all come together to create a beautiful, elegant, and powerful performance machine that is just as at home on or off the track as it is on or off the road.
