Description: The National Jamboree for the Scouts BSA (Boy Scouts of America) was held after a 6 year hiatus at the Summit Bechtel Reserve in Mt. Hope, West Virginia from July 19 - July 28 2023. Although smaller than previous jamborees, it was an awesome experience and makes me very hopeful for future jamborees, and all of scouting. This was created for the Staff (JST - Jamboree Service Team) created by the Order of the Arrow, previously referred to as the OA Service Corps, now known as Operation Arrow. Operation Arrow is where Arrowmen serve on the Order of the Arrow’s (OA’s) staff to provide essential services to the jamboree. The 2023 Jamboree took place from July 19-28, 2023 at the Summit Bechtel Reserve in West Virginia. Arrowmen in Operation Arrow helped facilitate the Summit Apex program and served their fellow Scouts with the Service Corps. The OA Service Corps has cheerfully served the Jamboree since 1958, with 2023 being the first year the OA has run Summit Apex. The Service Corps this year contributed over 9,000 man-hours to the Jamboree, being an essential part of the Jamboree’s operations. Summit Apex saw over 15,000 scouts participate in the Apex Festival, Feast, and Rally. This is the chenille (rug like) patch 4 inch compass shaped. All are MINT! Smoke free home.
