Black paper binding with metallic Silver/Blue first print lettering on spine (see pics please). Electric blue paper covered boards with some soiling to front and back covers. with rubbed soiled edges (see pics) with mild bumping to ends of spine. Black and blue illustrated end papers. Spine tight with all pages fanning easily. Corners still sharp with a clean,tight text block. In price-clipped dust jacket, with RED NAL. The wrappers are only in good/good+ condition/rubbed with some wear, paper loss missing at top of rear jacket (see pics) and mild chipping to ends of spine and flap folds. A lovely first print copy. 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968) is a science fiction novel by the English author. It was developed concurrently with Stanley Kubrick's film version and published after the release of the film. The story is based in part on various short stories by Clarke, most notably "The Sentinel" (written in 1948 for a BBC competition but first published in 1951 under the title "Sentinel of Eternity").
