Description: SeedsThis listing is for "Lantana camara" seeds. I have other listings with larger amounts of seed if you prefer. The larger amount you buy the better the price! This plant attracts many different kinds of butterflies, they LOVE it!Beautiful plants with prolific flowers. These are yellow and purple/bluish and tend to change color as the flower matures. You can trim these back and they will keep growing and producing more flowers. No need about over trimming. They grow well in containers and even in partial shade.Lantana's aromatic flower clusters (called umbels) are a mix of red, orange, yellow, or blue and white florets. Other colors exist as new varieties are being selected. The flowers typically change color as they mature, resulting in inflorescences that are two- or three-colored.Lantanas are generally hardy and somewhat toxic, but they are usually rejected by herbivores.Lantana berries are edible when ripe but like many fruits are mildly poisonous if eaten while still green. These seeds may take a long time to germinate, please be patient and don't give up on them. If you lightly nick/scarify them and then soak the seeds for 24 hours it speeds up the germination process. The Lantana seedpod is actually a berry, or a cluster of seeds that are very woody. In order to germinate the seeds you need to "nick" the outer shell in a process called "scarification" before soaking in water for 24 hours. After that, remove the seeds and lightly cover with soil, and ensure it is watered well for the duration. Lantana is a winter propagator, and usually needs 180 days. (60-90 or more days just to germinate, and then another 90 to be large enough to plant). Due to the long cycle, most gardeners will start seeds in the Fall, so the process ends in the Spring, but you may still have luck if you keep them indoors (with a grow light) until they can be planted outside (based on your zone and climate). These seeds have been cold stratified for better germination rates.I do not use any pesticides or herbicides in my garden and all my soil amendments are organic. I make my own organic compost to amend my soil with. Thanks!!
