Description: ** KATY, TX PICKUP ONLY** 2 cups of STRONG kombucha starter tea to get you started on a 1 gallon brew + 1 small pellicle (some call the pellicle a "scoby" but the scoby is actually the starter tea itself). [[ JARS SHOWN ARE NOT INCLUDED, Flip top bottles in the picture are for brewing f2 suggestion purposes only]] (Directions for brewing can be included if needed but youtube has great tutorials & ratios). This is for 2c starter tea & 1 scoby/pellicle mat. {{ Don't worry about the pellicle size (or if it's super ugly)- your new brew will create its own & honestly not even needed since youll grow a new one. The starter tea is what's most important }}••some helpful suggestions: _never use chlorinated water- it will damage your scoby, _black or green tea (bag or loose) work best. _never use square bottles since the c02 pressure gets trapped in the corner folds and can lead to bottle explosion (always round- never square). - understand that these do build pressure if you're running an f2, it's best to chill in fridge after the 2nd ferment before opening to give the c02 a chance to stabilize with out causing a volcanic rupture or bottle breaking (ask us how we know 😉😬) also, f2 is 2nd fermentation- which is where you bottle to add flavoring or force carbonation, this step is completely optional based on your preference as well as "burping" your bottles. Recipes typically call for 1-2 cups of starter tea per gallon- we are including 2 cups of STRONG starter to help accelerate your first 1 gal brew quicker (lessens how long it takes to ferment).
