This Pouch was designed to completely encase a folding entrenchment shovel/tool. Made of durable DuPont Cordura water-resistant Nylon. Military Specification front quick release locking buckle closes pouch to keep your gear secure. It also features a brass drain grommet to allow quick drainage, in the case of a wet event. The hole is just a little too small to allow a standard wooden school or business pencil to pass through it. The elastic stay keeps the loose end of the adjustable buckle strap from getting tangled in your other gear. These pouches are compatible with the current military issue gear for secure hook-ups and transport. The plastic bag may show some wear, but the pouch inside has never been used/issued. This listing's pictures do NOT show the factory bag, because it's hard to see the product through the shiny plastic. Sorry, I'm not a professional photographer. NearNew/Unissued: While pouches in this condition are no longer in the factory bag, they have never been issued, evidenced by the lack of hand-written notations on the pouch's NSN tag. (Any pouch that has been issued shows a month/year hand written notation on the NSN tag. This practice is consistent across every type of modern personal US military gear we have seen from the past decade or so.) These pouches show little or no wear. The most common wear, if present, tends to be paint rubbed off of the snaps on the Molle straps, which can not normally be seen when deployed in the usual manner, and/or minor surface scuffs on the buckles. (Both are due to the method of bulk storage the military uses.) There are no holes or major abrasions evident. In other words, they look nearly new. NearNew/Issued: These pouches have been issued, by evidence of the hand-written notations on the pouch's NSN tag. (Any pouch that has been issued shows a month/year hand written notation on the NSN tag. This practice is consistent across every type of modern personal US military gear we have seen from the past decade or so. These notations are not normally visible when the pouch has been deployed in the usual manner.) These pouches show little or no wear, and at first glance may look like our Unissued NearNew pouches. The most common wear, if present, tends to be paint rubbed off of the snaps on the Molle straps, which can not normally be seen when deployed in the usual manner, and/or minor surface scratches on the buckles, and/or superficial snags on the straps or fabric. There are no holes or major abrasions evident. In other words, aside from a notation on the NSN tag, they look nearly new. Excellent Condition: These pouches have obviously been used in the field, as evidenced by dust/minor soiling, scratches on the buckles, and/or some minor scuffing of the material. They may also have any of the defects mentioned above, for "NearNew" condition pouches. There are no holes in these pouches, and they are quite serviceable, but they are obviously not "new". We love outdoor sports too, and we only sell things that we would be happy to have in our personal gear. In fact, we do have most of the items we sell, in our personal packs, duffles, and bug-out bags. That's how we know we sell great gear! We ship right away!
