The book serves as an authoritative source on the history and evolution of this small South Carolina town. Honea Path is a small town in South Carolina with a rich history and unique origins. The name of the town is uncertain, with some sources suggesting it may have been named after an early landowner named William Honey or derived from an Indian word for "path". The town's history also includes the Chiquola Mill, which opened in 1903 and became the town's largest employer. In 1934, the mill was the site of the "Bloody Thursday" incident, a violent clash between striking workers and strikebreakers that left several dead. The town has published two editions of a book called "Honea Path Milestones" that provide more detailed information about its history and development over the years. This book is the 1976 FIRST EDITION. The later edition (1992) had red covers.The covers have light wear / spots. The front endpaper has a pen / pencil scribbling. First few pages have a foxing spot at the top. Edges of pages as seen with the book closed have foxing spots, more so at the top. Binding is good. Pages look good.
