Description: Welcome to Antiques & Moore! This listing is for a nice 19th Century majolica oval tray/dish made by the Griffin, Smith & Hill company of Phoenixville PA. The tray has a lavender-pink body with brown grapevines with green leaves around the outer border and two bunches of gapes in the center. Dish is marked with the early Griffin, Smith & Hill Etruscan majolica incised trademark stamp. The company produced majolica from 1879-1889. This pattern is pictured on page 82 of the book "Majolica Pottery", First Edition, by Mariann K. Marks. Measures 10" long and 6 1/2" wide. Weighs 13.8 ounces. This lovely tray is in very good to excellent Estate condition with no noted flaws. There are several faint nicks around the outside edge that are not noticeable from the front from normal wear.
