Description: MTS ANTIQUE JEWELLERY BOXES WONDERFUL 19c TECHNICAL DRAWING BOX - WONDERFUL INTERIOR For sale is a superb early 19c inlaid solid mahogany dated 1887 restored and repolished technical drawing box in lovely condition. Dates approximately 1860/1890 FULLY LOCKS with ease.In very good order with no repairs. No missing or replaced timber on the box. The tray is also original and in good order. The original tray is in good order with wear as expected on the original fabric. Inlaid with the original solid brass dated 1887 central cartouche. Original solid brass keyhole escutcheon. Very rare to see a dated box with a really nice engraved cartouche. A really superb early box in great restored order. The internal tray is original to the box. All the tools look original in pretty good order and complete as far as we can tell. Its always difficult to tell with these sets. The interior to the inner lid is also original to the box. The inner bottom section of the box has been relined by us in good quality velvet to match. It looks much better than you see in the pictures. The box also comes with extra instruments with three that are much later in date. Beneath the box has also been lined in the same velvet to stop any scratches to other surfaces. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS BOX. ALL OUR BOXES ARE QUITE UNIQUE WITH HIGH QUALITY INTERIORS All our boxes come with after care instruction. We take a lot of pride and care in what we do. Box retains the original brass lock, original hinges, and top catch. Comes complete with a silk tassel and Victorian solid brass key that FULLY LOCKS the box. The lid opens fully to reveal a wonderful interior. Beneath the box has also been lined velvet to stop any scratched to other surfaces. A superb box, and would make a fantastic gift.
