Description: 1995 McFarlane Toys Spawn Violator Chopper /Cycle & Super Size Violator This figure is now 30 years old and has a slight tacky feel. This is common on soft plastic toys of this age and type. The reason the figures become a little tacky is because of a specific plasticizer they used when making these. This plasticizer was added to the PVC (the main material used in figures) in order to make it softer and flexible – the more mixed in with the PVC, the softer and more flexible it becomes.However, over a long period of time (30 years) this plasticizer vaporizes, and when this happens while a figure is sealed up in it’s box the vaporized plasticizer has nowhere to go, and thus sticks onto the surface of the figure creating a light tacky feel. How to resolve......Soak in Dawn Dish Soap and water for 24 hrs or you can use a cloth and wipe with rubbing alcohol or lighter fluid. I have many of these types of figures ( of a certain age) in their boxes and when opened some were this way and the remedy worked on all.
