The official day for the end of E Salvador's 12-year civil war was Tuesday, but for Houston, Texas resident "Alberto" the pain of the conflict goes on. The 20-year-old, who requested his full name not be used, was recently granted asylum and has no wish to return to the country that killed his 7-year-old sister and numerous other relatives. Regina Germain, Houston attorney for the Central American Refugee Center said both Alberto and a former Honduran army officer last month were two of the less than 20 refugees granted asylum locally out of thousands that applied.
