This is the third of seven dates for this long obsolete design, it is dated July 1, 1991. President Daniel Toroitich arap Moi, or Daniel Toroitich son of Moi, pictured on the note, served as the 2nd President of Kenya from 1978 to 2002. He was the country's longest-serving president. Previously he had served as the Vice President under Jomo Kenyatta, becoming President following the latter's death.
