Description: This is a Vintage 1984 Hess Fuel Oil Tanker Truck with Bank. Item is new in original box. Opened to take photos. Excellent condition! Originally released on November 22, 1984, this is an updated model of the 1977-78 Fuel Oil Tanker. Collectors will know that Hess introduced this first-ever bank model to the fleet by adding a coin slot (shown in photos) at the rear of the tanker. Kids could access their money by turning the cap at the back. This fiscally fun idea became the major feature of the next three releases. This was also the last Hess toy to use a single D battery. Due to age- I removed original battery and replaced with a new one to ensure customer satisfaction. Lights work perfectly! Awesome for collectors of Hess memorabilia or any toy-bank enthusiast!
