Description: ANACS 1980-P Jefferson nickel struck on a cent planchet. The coin is struck on the copper-alloy planchet of a Lincoln cent, and is both the weight and metal of a Lincoln cent. Nice eye-appeal, with the copper appearance dramatically contrasting with a normal Jefferson nickel's appearance. The error occurred when a cent planchet was fed into a Jefferson nickel coining press and was struck, resulting in a coin with the design of a nickel on the copper-alloy planchet of a cent. A popular and affordable off-metal, and generally scarce. MS63 Red/Brown with a few small spots.
