The film is also known as “Bright Sunny Skies,” "The Brightest Day" or "The Brightest Sunshine.” The story is set during the Cultural Revolution in China and follows the life of a young woman named Suqin, played by actress Shi Hui. Suqin is a former actress who is sent to a remote village to do manual labor as part of the government's campaign to "re-educate" intellectuals. Despite the harsh living conditions and constant persecution, Suqin finds solace in the company of a kind and hardworking young farmer. The film explores themes of love, resilience, and the human spirit in the face of adversity. It is also known for its stunning cinematography, which captures the beauty of the rural Chinese landscape.
