Description: Handsome fold-out 1970 official state highway map of Georgia, printed more than 53 years ago. The map opens to 22" x 33" and has good coverage of old road alignments, including work in progress on the Interstate Highway System. Both I-75 and I-20 were still being built when this map was printed. There are inset plans of more than 20 Georgia cities, including Augusta, Columbus, Albany, Savannah, Valdosta, and Waycross on the reverse side. The map was published by the State Highway Department of Georgia, Atlanta, in January 1970. The cover photograph depicts a pastoral scene in the mountain area of north Georgia.
