A right-wing diatribe against the strike as a Communist plot by the ultra-conservative John Birch Society offprint (Moderately edge darkened) The four-year long labor strike against table grape growers in the Central California town of Delano was started by Filipino American farm workers and later led by the United Farm Workers Union and Cesar Chavez. Before winning a victory in 1970, the strike won considerable support from liberal and union groups in northern California, as can be seen from the first two imprints offered here. It has been credited with revolutionizing the farm labor movement in America by bringing about significant improvements in labor rights and protections for farmworkers.
