Description: This is a classic three-speed DL-1 made in 1965. See the photo of the rear Sturmey-Archer hub which has the year of manufacture printed on its shell. I purchased and installed a Dynohub on the front wheel along with a headlight and red tail light. The dynohub and lights work fine. I also installed a 1950's rear rack and a new Brooks leather saddle. I purchased the bike from its original owner around 2014 and completely broke it down and rebuilt it and used it for several years as my commuting bike. I replaced the original rear cog (I think it was an 18-tooth) with a 24-tooth cog to make it easier to get up the hills in Lancaster county. The top tube was dented when I purchased it and was repaired by an expert steel-frame builder and you cannot tell it has been repaired. I will consider only sales for local pick up only. I will not ship.
