Description: Travel back in time with this 1965 "Chord" Jackson-Guldan acoustic slide guitar. "Made in U.S.A." is stamped on the inside. Made in Columbus, Ohio by the late Jackson-Guldan Company. Jackson-Guldan made low-end guitars and violins from about the 1940s to the early 1970s. We got it from the original owner, who received it new as a Christmas gift in 1965. It was, and is, a budget guitar. It has a small 13-1/4" lower bout, so it is parlor size (or Stella-sized). Cosmetically, it looks okay, but has age and play wear.. There are scuffs and scrapes on the top, back, and sides. The paint around the soundhole is coming off. The paint around the sides is chipping off. Functionally, because of the high action, it only really plays as a slide guitar. 12th fret action is between 6/32" and 7/32". The neck has the odd Jackson-Guldan adjustable system that never works that well. The neck angle is supposed to be adjustable. With some work, the action could come down some, I guess. I just dry-fit a shim under the neck tongue that brought the action down to 5/32. It comes with a metal slide bar, so you can get your slide on with it. What it is is a budget vintage acoustic guitar. It comes with a case that is not original. The case is slightly warped and a little big for the guitar, but still functional. The handle, latches, and hinges all work. Questions? It will be well packed with plenty of new 1/2" bubble wrap and shipped in a new 46"x19"x7" stout cardboard instrument box.
