Description: This 1961 program is in excellent condition. The front cover has Hillsboro Easter written on the top right corner, and the probable entries page has handwritten changes to the race roster. All pages are secure, there are no tears, and there are no creases. Numerous pictures were taken to assist with the condition and content of the program. The .9 mile dirt track, Orange Speedway (formerly Occoneechee), played host to the 11th race of the 1961 Grand National season. The race was originally scheduled for March 19th, but rain forced a postponement. A small crowd of 4900 would see Ned Jarrett lead the 20 car field into the 110-lap event. Junior Johnson was in a comfortable lead until he was forced to pit on lap 93. Cotton Owens would take the lead and go on to win his 5th career Grand National race. Finishing second was Richard Petty, followed by Buck Baker, Johnson, and Rex White. Please review the other racing items I have listed. I will combine shipping and provide a refund on shipping charges for anything over cost. Thanks!
