Description: Up for auction is a rare 5 digit professional 1960 Selmer Paris Mark VI alto saxophone. This alto saxophone has received a complete mechanical overhaul including(an ultrasonic cleaning, all keys have been swedged to factory tightness, all new pads have been installed with Selmer style plastic resonators and all new corks/felts have been installed). There are no current major dents present and several minor dings do not affect performance. This alto sax has scratches throughout from normal use, almost no lacquer exists on the body or keys and a nice patina should develop over time. The bell engraving is visible, though much of the detailed engraving is faint. The neck is in very good condition(no signs of pull down), but is not original to this saxophone. The body and neck have different serial numbers(body s/n is in the upper 89,xxx range and the neck s/n is in the upper 114,xxx range). Included is a somewhat rare used Selmer "Chesterfield Tray-Pack" zippered wood shell alto sax case(including a shaped clarinet case, the zipper is functional and one zipper pull tab is missing, interior is intact and has some odor, exterior has minor wear from normal use, case lid has room for a flute headjoint/body/footjoint, both handles are intact, visible wear on case edges) and a vintage wood "Selmer" style body end plug.
