John Maynard Keynes (1883-1946) was a British economist and philosopher whose ideas of macroeconomics fundamentally redefined the field and altered the way governments view money. A Treatise on Money was his most influential work. Originally published in 1930, this treatise argued that economic bubbles were not random circumstances, as previously believed, but rather, they were discrepancies between a county's saving and investing. By revolutionizing the way governments viewed money, Keynes believed they could work to prevent economic depressions and create more stable systems. FORN-MSB-0923-0746
