Description: 1957-59 Union Oil 76 Sports Club Booklet #1 - Elroy "Crazylegs" Hirsch Los Angeles Rams - Good condition. These SCARCE 12-page instructional booklets (3-7/8" x 5-1/2") were given away by Union 76 gas stations from 1957-1959 in conjunction with its Sports Club ABC television program. Besides the four major sports, this series of 44 12-page booklets features big names in such sports as golf, track & field, swimming and diving, archery, bowling, skiing, fishing, and tennis. In each illustrated booklet, the featured star discusses the fine points of a particular facet of his sport. There is also a short biography of the subject of each booklet. This booklet (#1 in the series) features Los Angeles Rams Hall of Fame player Elroy "Crazylegs" Hirsch presenting the fine points of football offense. There is some general edge and corner wear and some chipping on the edges (see the scan), but this SCARCE item is still in very collectible condition. No collection of "Crazylegs" Hirsch memoribilia is complete without this booklet.
